E-Mike (On Steorids)

“The curiously titled E-Mike (On Steroids) is their latest release, with the track being an instrumental piece of music that contains numerous genres. It starts off slow before building up into something more epic – the guitar and bass melodies are very impressive and I loved the change of pace that occurs about halfway through, giving the song more of a funky feel. It’s hard to describe without actually listening to it, so check out E-Mike (On Steroids) below!”

“My mind puts me in the beginning of an action or mystery film when this joint comes on. Shades equipped, dark outfit, surveying my surroundings in the middle of New York City, about to walk inside of a huge bank. Can you see it? Then, in the mist of the pseudo calmness, an impactful/jolting scene occurs. Yeah, that's how this piece feels.”

Uto Pia

“Zurich-based Uto Paradise’s latest single  “Uto Pia” offers another atmospheric instrumental laced with soulful melodic lines packed in a lovely organic soundscape. It is driven by the mellow guitar sound and the heavy added ambience added by reverbs and delays played by Michel Spahr. The rhythm pattern consists of Maxime Paratte on drums and Severin Graf on bass who set the foundation of the track with an intensively chill groove.”

Dreamland

“If ever there was a perfect night time instrumental, ‘Dreamland’ is it. Blending both eerie and strangely hopeful synth, the track has a smoothness to it that is pretty incredible. The Zurich act are intentional with their construction. It would be easy to rush or try to dazzle with their skill, but instead they let the track breathe. While it is definitely a slow burner, around 3 minutes in, it picks up a bit before fully dissolving.”

Drink Up, You Schmock!

“Producer Uto Paradise brings forth a plethora of styles and sounds on his new effort titled ‘Drink Up, You Schmock!.’ The guitar-laden piece is funky and bright and sure packs a punch with the snapping percussions and grooves. The instrumental was arranged and composed by Uto Paradise with the help of a handful of instrumentalists. Michel Spahr is excellent on the lead guitars while Severin Graf holds down the bassline with Maxime Paratte on drums and mixing duties.”

Falling Star:

“If you need to get your daily jazz fix, look no further than the latest release from Uto Paradise. Inspired by the success Khruangbin has had without a lead singer, Uto Paradise embrace their instrumental sound on new single ‘Falling Star’. The Swiss indie-jazz trio is composed of guitarist Michel Spahr, bassist Severin Graf, and drummer Maxime Paratte. On “Falling Star” they masterfully combine a traditional jazz bass and drum rhythm with an atmospheric treated guitar effect. Living up to the song’s name, they sprinkle in wavering synth notes that feel like starbursts throughout. The overall effect is delightfully dreamy.”

“ ‘Falling Star’ is the new release from Uto Paradise, the instrumental band deliver another potent release that showcases their off-the-hook jazz arrangements. The beat is quite relaxing from the wobbly bassline, swirling guitar riffs, and snapping drums to match.”

“Switzerland post-jazz trio Uto Paradise have shared the chillest new song. Get ready for a mesmerizing space funk exploration in ‘Falling Star.’ The swirling rhythm and jumping soft bass lift our flying machine up, and the mellow wah-wah radiance coordinates the path, spreading across the vast starry sky. And from now on everything is easy, calm and safe. Uto Paradise provides us with this fantastic music, and we melt in front of a giant spaceship porthole. We want to endlessly contemplate this gliding, intoxicating beauty of the abyss, leaning back in a chair.” by grotesqualizer

“The Zurich-based instrumental band who go by the name Uto Paradise make their entry on our site with this soothing and funky number titled ‘Adiós Motherfucker.’ The record is a tribute to the infamous cocktail of the same name and stays true to the band’s theme of naming their songs after drinks. The track is very funky and groovy from the get-go. The funky guitars, lush textures, and warm basslines gel well with the gripping rhythm.” by thewordisbond

by indiecriollo

“Zurich-based instrumental band Uto Paradise got us tripping with their new release ‘Cheap Drinks.’ A smooth groovy beat is ripe with warm bass guitars, lush electric guitar riffs, and head nodding drums to complete the job. The instrumental is really cinematic and dynamic with the way the instruments glide over each other giving off an ambient aura. Uto Paradise’s members include Michel Spahr on guitars, bassist Severin Graf, Maxime Paratte on drums.”

“Who doesn't love cheap drinks? Maybe, listening to Zurich based Uto Paradise's slippery funk indie ‘Cheap Drinks’, that at time feels like a cagey surreal spy caper, while having the aforementioned cheap drink in some spicy sweet club would be a piece of heaven. Love the subdued but tight drumming courtesy of Maxime Paratte, the funky plucking bass work of Severin Graf and the devilish guitar work by Michel Spahr that at times feels like lounge punk, jazz hop a la tropicalia.”
